| NJM
has built up an enviable reputation within the construction
industry for completing innovative marine projects.
In the 1980s the company developed specialist knowledge
and skills in moveable cofferdams (limpet dams for which
they hold the patent) to facilitate high quality repair
work on marine structures below the water line. The
success of this system has resulted in securing many
contracts worldwide.
Renewals and repairs of
complex moving structures handled by Nuttall John Martin
have often included use of the specialist NJM Limpet
Dams allowing dry inspection and working with good QA
practices.
Limpet Dams are designed to create a dry working environment
below the water level, adjacent to a quay face or marine
structure.
Limpet Dams allow high quality repairs or strengthening
to be carried out to structures without resorting to
the use of divers. The Limpet Dam system is also an
ideal way of carrying out routine, but thorough, inspections
of structures.
A feature of major significance with the system is
its flexibility which permits substantial works of strengthening
to be undertaken to busy operational quays with minimum
disruption to shipping.
Corrosion management using Limpet
Dam technology is now a real economic option.
