Our road building and maintenance capability encompasses all areas of highway construction, maintenance and improvements ranging from reconstruction through to large and small highway contracts and framework agreements.

We believe that value for our client will be delivered wherever possible by utilising directly employed resources and entering into long term agreements with our key supply chain partners.

Our regional network of offices across the UK allows us to provide a local service for small scale highway projects whilst being able to respond and deliver services on the larger national motorways and trunk road new build, improvements and maintenance schemes.

The road maintenace and construction division of NJM varies from working on projects between £100,000 to £24 million. Innovative solutions have been invariably provided to our clients with cost efficient and suitably designed projects. NJM work included motorway, trunk, and bypass schemes under Framework agreements to park-and-ride facilities. We have experience in many road schemes including industrial and housing developments. This now includes foul and surface water drainage schemes which need environmental impact statements (including in SSSIs), while minimising disruption and disturbance to working personnel, flora and fauna.

A number of strengthening and replacement projects have been handled by NJM on river, road and rail bridges. Most with requirements for operational continuity and some with short possession roll-ins.
